Kupang, Nigaola.com – The Governor of East Nusa Tenggara, Melki Laka Lena, held a meeting with several civil servants (ASN) at his official residence, Friday (14/03/2025).
Despite just returning from a discussion with academics about livestock downstreaming, he remained energetic and engaged throughout the session.
Wearing a Scout uniform, he created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The attending civil servants found the discussion to be open and informal, free from stiffness or excessive formality.
This approach reflected a leadership style that is more communicative and approachable.
During the meeting, the governor emphasized the important role of civil servants in spreading positive messages to the public through social media.
He pointed out that government institutions often communicate in a formal and standardized manner, which may not always resonate with the general public.
To address this, he encouraged civil servants to share messages in a more casual and personal tone, making them more relatable and engaging.
As an initial step, he invited several civil servants representing the 22 districts and cities in NTT to actively share messages of optimism from their own perspectives.
He stressed that in doing so, they should not emphasize their official positions or ranks. Instead, they should speak as members of society, inspiring hope and positivity.
This initiative aims to create a more uplifting narrative in public discourse, shifting from pessimistic tones to perspectives that promote confidence and progress.
By doing so, the people of NTT can remain hopeful and resilient in facing challenges while striving for regional development.
The Head of the NTT Provincial Civil Service Agency, Yosef Rasi, S.Sos, M.Si, was also present at the meeting to support this initiative.
He reinforced the idea that civil servants have a greater responsibility in sharing inspirational messages and fostering a sense of unity.
Through this movement, civil servants are expected to go beyond administrative duties and take on a more active role as agents of change, promoting optimism within the community.
This approach is anticipated to strengthen communication between the government and the people, ultimately contributing to the development of a better NTT. (*)
